By using the YouAreCoder platform (youarecoder.com), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. Please read this document carefully before using our services. If you do not agree to these terms, you should not use our services.

1 Service Definition

YouAreCoder is a SaaS (Software as a Service) platform that provides users with cloud-based software development environments (workspaces). Our service includes:

Code-Server IDE: Browser-based VS Code development environment
Cloud Workspaces: Remotely accessible, private development spaces
SSL Certificates: Secure HTTPS access (Let's Encrypt)
Automatic Backup: Security for your workspace data
24/7 Access: Global internet access

Service Location: Our servers are located in Turkey (IP: 37.27.21.167). However, our service is globally accessible.

2 Account and Registration

2.1. Registration Requirements:

Must be 18 years or older, or have legal guardian approval
Must provide accurate and current information (company name, email, subdomain)
Email verification is mandatory
Strong password policy required (minimum 8 characters, upper/lowercase, numbers, special characters)

2.2. Account Responsibility:

You are responsible for account security
Do not share your password with anyone
Report suspicious activity immediately (support@youarecoder.com)
You are responsible for all activities on your account

2.3. Multiple Account Policy:

One company/user can only create one account. If multiple accounts are detected, all accounts may be suspended.

3.2. Trial Period:

All new accounts start with a 14-day free trial
No credit card required during trial
Account automatically suspended if no payment after trial
Access to all plan features during trial

3.3. Automatic Renewal:

Subscriptions automatically renew monthly
Email notification sent 7 days before renewal
Secure payment infrastructure via PayTR
Supported currencies: TRY, USD, EUR

3.4. Invoicing:

Automatic e-invoice sent after each payment
Invoices accessible from Billing panel
Compliant with Turkish Ministry of Finance regulations

4 Usage Conditions

4.1. Permitted Use:

Software development, testing, and deployment purposes
Educational and learning project development
Team collaboration and code sharing
Legal and ethical applications

4.2. Prohibited Activities:

❌ Malware development (viruses, trojans)
❌ Phishing or social engineering attacks
❌ DDoS attacks or network abuse
❌ Copyright infringement (pirated software, unlicensed content)
❌ Crypto mining (CPU/RAM abuse)
❌ Spam sending or automated bot operations
❌ Hosting illegal content

4.3. Resource Usage:

Each workspace is subject to resource limits based on your plan
Warning sent if excessive resource usage (CPU, RAM, Disk) detected
Workspace may be suspended for continuous abuse

5 Cancellation and Refund Policy

5.1. Cancellation:

You can cancel your subscription at any time
Click "Cancel Subscription" button in Billing panel
Service continues until the end of current period after cancellation
No charges for the next period

5.2. Refund Policy:

✅ 14-Day Guarantee:

If you're not satisfied within 14 days after your first subscription payment, 100% money-back guarantee. Email support@youarecoder.com for refund request.

Pro-rated Refund: If canceled mid-subscription, pro-rated refund for unused days
Refund Process: Refund request processed within 3-5 business days
Refund Method: Refunded to original payment card/account

5.3. Non-Refundable Situations:

Account closed due to Terms of Service violation
Abuse detected
Refund request after 14-day period (except pro-rated refund)

6 Service Level Agreement (SLA)

6.1. Uptime:

Target: 99.5% monthly uptime
Scheduled Maintenance: Pre-announced, typically during night hours
Emergency Maintenance: Immediate intervention for critical security updates

6.2. Support:

Starter Plan: Email support (48-hour response)
Team Plan: Priority email support (24-hour response)
Enterprise Plan: Dedicated support + SLA guarantee (4-hour response)

6.3. Data Backup:

Daily automatic backup (last 7 days retained)
Restore within 24 hours in case of data loss
Users should also take their own backups (best practice)

7 Liability Limitations

7.1. Service Provided "As Is":

YouAreCoder provides the service as-is. We make no warranties. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

7.2. Liability Limit:

Maximum liability: Limited to total amount paid in last 12 months
Not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
Not liable for data loss, business loss, or revenue loss

7.3. User Responsibility:

You are responsible for content in your workspace
License compliance for third-party software is your responsibility
Damages from security vulnerabilities are user responsibility

8 Privacy and Data Protection

Protection of your personal data is our priority. For details, see our Privacy Policy .

8.1. Data Processing:

KVKK (Personal Data Protection Law) compliant operations
GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) compliant principles
Data stored on servers in Turkey

8.2. User Rights:

Right to Access: You can request access to your data
Right to Rectification: You can request correction of incorrect data
Right to Erasure: Account deletion removes all your data (within 30 days)
Data Portability: You can export your data in JSON format

9 Intellectual Property Rights

9.1. YouAreCoder Ownership:

Platform, logo, design, source code: Owned by Alkedos Teknoloji A.Ş.
"YouAreCoder" trademark is registered
All intellectual property rights on the platform are reserved

9.2. User Content Ownership:

Your code belongs to you. All content in your workspace belongs to you
YouAreCoder claims no rights over your content
However, you grant us necessary license to provide service (backup, migration, etc.)

9.3. Third-Party Software:

Code-Server: Used under MIT License
Users are responsible for their own licenses

10 Changes and Notifications

10.1. Terms of Service Changes:

We may change these terms at any time
Major changes notified 30 days in advance via email
Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance
If you don't agree, you can cancel your subscription

10.2. Notification Methods:

Email: Sent to your registered email address
Platform Announcements: Displayed on dashboard
Blog/Changelog: youarecoder.com/blog

10.3. Price Changes:

Price increases announced 60 days in advance
Transition period granted for existing customers
If you don't agree, you can cancel and get refund for remaining period

11 Dispute Resolution

11.1. Complaint Process:

First contact support@youarecoder.com
Your complaint reviewed within 5 business days
Resolution proposal provided
If dispute continues, upper management reviews

11.2. Legal Process:

Jurisdiction: Istanbul (Turkey) courts have jurisdiction
Applicable Law: Republic of Turkey laws apply
Language: Contract languages are Turkish and English. In case of conflict, Turkish text prevails

11.3. Consumer Rights:

As a consumer, your rights are protected under the Consumer Protection Law. Your right to apply to Consumer Courts and Consumer Arbitration Committees is reserved.
